Featuring amazing images of trains, virtual tours of engines, and profiles of key innovators, designers, and engineers, The Train Book (US title, Train: The Definitive Visual History) traces the history of the railroad and the role of trains, from the first steam engines to today's high speed bullet trains.
As one of my first major projects at Dorling Kindersley, I carried out image research and layout design, as well as intricate and complex Photoshop corrections and cutouts. The layout designs here required a methodical approach where a left-right and top-bottom view was adopted in order to successfully take the reader through an easy-to-follow visual tour.
